Hotel Photography is the focus of Abran’s career as a professional photographer. When capturing a hotel or resort Abran creates the most iconic and marketable images because he is able to visualize the production from three unique perspectives; First as a photographer, his two decades of experience combined with formal education helps him envision the best composition, lighting, styling for each particular shot as well as the technical ability to bring it all together. Secondly, he has years of experience, not only as a photographer, but directly in the hospitality industry. From his first job in high school, the restaurant of a luxury boutique hotel in Tucson’s Catalina foothills, to the Ritz-Carlton (Marina del Rey), while he supported his way through business school (USC), then commercial photography school (SMC) he is very familiar with the industry. Knowing the standards, vocabulary, expectations, helps him understand the demands from the hotel operations and marketing side. Thirdly, Abran is passionate about travel and does so as much as possible. Being an avid traveler is important in understanding the guest’s perspective. Envisioning things through their eyes helps him determine what is most important to show off and communicate about what makes each property special and what will make their stay memorable.
